Fresh Cabbage Salad

No, it's not coleslaw. It's low fat and an ideal companion for a pre-dinner rakia.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage about 1 kg
  • 2-3 to matoes
  • the juice of 1/2 to 1 lemon
  • seasoned vegetable salt like "Vegeta" or plain salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons salad oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the cabbage, add the salt and the lemon juice and mash and press it using your hand. This will reduce its volume but it will also get tender and better-seasoned. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces and combine them with the cabbage. Add the oil, mix and serve. Enjoy!
